Ephraim (Philip) Lansky is a general practice physician also licensed in hypnosis, and qualified in multiple complementary medical modalities. In addition to his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (1982), he received a Ph.D. in pharmacognosy from Leiden University (2008) with his doctoral thesis Anticancer Pharmacognosy of Punica granatum, making him one of the only physicians in the modern world to qualify in pharmacognosy, i.e., the pharmacology of crude drugs, especially from medicinal plants. He is a member of the American Institute of Homeopathy, The Israel Association for Classical Homeopathy, The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, The American Society of Pharmacognosy, and the American Telemedicine Association, and is lead author of four books on medicinal plants and author or co-author of approximately 36 peer-reviewed scientific papers on pomegranates, consciousness, and healing. He is currently Research Fellow at the University of Haifa in its Institute of Evolution, and Series Editor for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Industrial Profiles, and Traditional Herbal Medicines for Modern Times by CRC Press.
